My name is Karen Green and I’m a professional translator working from German and French into English, and specialising in translations from Austrian and Swiss German.
Experience
- More than 25 years’ experience in the translation industry
- Various administrative and management posts in the translation industry, including:
- Department manager in a specialist patent translation company
- Account executive for a foreign language typesetter, and
- Office manager and in-house translator for a busy London translation agency specialising in legal and financial translations
- Freelance translator, proofreader and editor since 1994. Customers in: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the UK and USA
- Translations from German, Austrian German, Swiss German and French into English in various specialist subject areas

Qualifications
- BA (Hons) degree in French and German, University of Salford, UK
- Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists
- Qualified Member of the Institute of Translation & Interpreting
- Member of the German Association of Interpreters and Translators, BDÜ
- Intermediate Member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders
- Wine & Spirits Education Trust Higher Certificate with Distinction – a professional wine and spirits industry qualification
